Palo Alto Visit

I type this in my Seattle bedroom as the sun rises, looking back on a few weeks I spent in the Palo Alto area for the first time. I had spent time in the Bay Area previously enjoying the weather, culture, public transportation, architecture and of course the urban tech-scene. I knew Palo Alto and “The Valley” were the closest thing to Mecca for techies and start-up enthusiasts which had always kept me curious and interested in what all the hype was about. I flew down to meet with a few other local Seattlites Wesley Zhao (http://wesleyzhao.com/) and Ajay Mehta who were renting a house closely outside Stanford campus for a new project changing the way people view their athlete identity online. Peter K Chen from Seattle who was also visiting was assisting on the project. A real hacker house, complete with 24-hours energys, redbull, airbeds and off the wall sleeping patterns. If there wasn’t the chatter of keyboards you were sure to hear the sounds of OFGKTA, 90′s hip-hop or dub-step remixes playing in the background.

I spent time in the area focusing on designing for a few clients, meeting new people, and furthering projects of my own. One focus was moving the team forward at Pursuit.me by handing the feature scopes, market validation and development, events as well as planning new UI and UX for our release. Needless to say, we’ve been busy. Enjoying all of the new opportunities in the area I decided to make a quick flight back up to Seattle to see friends and family and handle some errands and meetings. Travels to Egypt / U.A.E

I spent the holidays in U.A.E (Dubai, Al Ain, Abu Dhabi) and new years in Egypt (Luxor, Aswan, Cairo) I took around 1400 photos as it was the first long trip I had taken with my new camera. I spent so much time soaking things in I always seemed to forget my camera or miss taking photos all together. Won’t take too much more practice, capturing and enjoying can be one in the same.

I swapped hosts and have put up a new long term WordPress site. The plan will be to start updating the blog with useful information, photos of travel and art and more. Maybe some advice,videos, and resources for entrepreneurs, startup-er’s, and passionate people. For now as one of the first posts on the new site I will keep it short and simple.
